Researchers from the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana have once again ranked among the top 2% most influential scientists in the world, as shown by the prestigious Elsevier and Stanford University list. This ranking, which is based on citation counts and the quality of scientific publications, is an important recognition of research excellence.
Among the 79 researchers from the University of Ljubljana, 14 are from the Biotechnical Faculty, making up 18% of all ranked researchers from UL. This is nearly twice the faculty’s share based on funding and employment. The strongest representation comes from the fields of forestry and the forest-based value chain, with researchers in the areas of food science, microbiology, and environmental studies also ranking highly.
We are particularly proud that 3 researchers from the ERA Chair Foodomics project are also listed among the most cited in their respective scientific communities, including Prof. dr. Nataša Poklar Ulrih, Prof. dr. Urška Vrhovšek and Prof. dr. Robert Veberič. This recognition further confirms the high level of research activity and global impact of the Biotechnical Faculty’s researchers.
Congratulations to all those who have been included in this prestigious list!
