Exciting Updates from the Horizon Europe:

ERA Chair Foodomics Project!

We are pleased to announce that our team has grown even stronger with new members!

Starting from March 1, we welcome Sebastién Roca, who will take on the role of a postdoctoral researcher. In addition, three more team members will join us in September 2026, making our project even more innovative and effective.

Our research team will be fully assembled, until the end of 2026 and we will enter the next phase of the project. We are excited about the upcoming achievements and developments in the project!

In April, we will organize a workshop focused on Research Management.

Mark the date, April 8th–10th, 2026, and prepare for an engaging and informative session!

From the 14th to the 20th, our first Summer School will be organized on various metabolomics topics. Topic of the summer school will be Metabolic Response of Horticultural Plants to Stress Factors, where participants will have the opportunity to dive deep into specific project themes.

3-Day Workshop on Research Management

Our upcoming 3-day workshop from 8-10 April 2026, will cover essential topics in Research Management, including project planning, execution, and team coordination. Participants will gain insights into best practices and tools to effectively manage their research projects.

Target audience: Early-career researchers and postdoctoral researchers.

Metabolic Response of Horticultural Plants to Stress Factors

Our Summer School in June will focus on the metabolic response of horticultural plants to various stress factors such as salinity and drought. Participants will engage in hands-on experiments and learn about the physiological, biochemical, and analytical aspects of plant responses to stress.

Target: Early-career and postdoctoral researchers in life sciences.

Introducing Our Newest Team Members

Matija Milanič is an Associate Professor, Senior Researcher, and Coordinator of the Medical Physics Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (FMF), University of Ljubljana, and the Jožef Stefan Institute.

Evgen Benedik is an Assistant Professor at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana (BF), and a clinical dietitian at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, specializing in pediatric nutrition, gastroenterology, and neonatology.

Sebastién Roca a post-doctoral researcher at Biotechnical Faculty will be employed on ERA Chair Foodomics project since March 2026. He holds a PhD in Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Montpellier, IBMM, France
