Franc Bitenč was a Slovenian professor and expert in the field of food science. After his passing, the "Food Days" event was renamed to "Bitenč Food Days" (BŽD) in his honor, recognizing his significant contribution to the development of food science in Slovenia.
The Department of Food Science and Technology at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, is organizing the traditional 32nd Bitenč Food Days under the title "What Will We Eat Tomorrow – Food in Sustainable Food Systems."
Distinguished experts will present key areas of modern food production, processing, preservation, packaging, and storage technologies, with a special focus on sustainable food systems.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first event, whose core mission has been to inform graduates, doctoral students, and other professionals in the fields of food science and nutrition about the most current scientific findings and advancements in this area.
