The Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana is announcing a 3 Young Researcher Positions within the ERA Chair Foodomics project. This is an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated researchers who wish to join an international and multidisciplinary research team led by Prof. Dr. Urška Vrhovšek.

One of the requirements is that candidates have not previously been employed at the University of Ljubljana.

Description:
ERA Chair Foodomics is offering 3 exciting positions for highly motivated young researchers to join a multidisciplinary and international research team led by Prof. Dr. Urška Vrhovšek. This is a unique opportunity for candidates to contribute to cutting-edge research while collaborating with leading experts across Europe and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will be involved in high-throughput data collection and analysis to support the elucidation of processes aimed at improving the quality, technological, and nutritional value of agri-food products using metabolomics approaches. The main duties include:

  • Metadata acquisition and curation of collected data

  • Data acquisition, storage, and management for metabolomic analysis

  • Performing quality control on produced data

  • Statistical analysis and interpretation of metabolomic data

  • Preparing regular written reports based on analysis results

  • Contributing to scientific publications and assisting in the preparation of manuscripts

  • Collaborating with project teams at different stages of research and development

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the employer

Specific Requirements:
The program is open to candidates with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in one of the following fields:

  • Biochemistry

  • Analytical Chemistry

  • Food Science

  • Bioinformatics

  • Related disciplines

Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in collaborative research. Additionally, candidates must not have previously been employed at the University of Ljubljana.

Languages:

  • English: Excellent proficiency required

Additional Skills:

  • Strong interest in metabolomics and agri-food research

  • Experience in data analysis and statistical interpretation is desirable
