The Department of Food Science of the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Ljubljana is organizing the traditional 32nd Bitenč Food Days with the title What will we eat tomorrow – food in sustainable food systems. Prominent experts will present the areas of modern technologies of food production, processing, preservation, packaging and storage, with an emphasis on sustainable food systems. This year marks 50 years since the organization of the first event, whose fundamental mission is to familiarize graduates and doctoral students in food science and other experts who are professionally involved in food science and nutrition with the most current scientific findings and achievements in the mentioned field.

Franc Bitenč was a Slovenian professor and expert in the field of food science. After his passing, the “Food Days” event was renamed to “Bitenc Food Days” (BŽD) in his honor, recognizing his significant contribution to the development of food science in Slovenia.

The Department of Food Science and Technology at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, is organizing the traditional 32nd Bitenc Food Days under the title “What Will We Eat Tomorrow – Food in Sustainable Food Systems.”

Distinguished experts will present key areas of modern food production, processing, preservation, packaging, and storage technologies, with a special focus on sustainable food systems.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first event, whose core mission has been to inform graduates, doctoral students, and other professionals in the fields of food science and nutrition about the most current scientific findings and advancements in this area.
